Via Ferrata - La Clusaz
The via ferrata above La Clusaz is called Yves Pollet-Villard. This is the via ferrata most people do as their first experience of it here in the Aravis, as it is one of the most straightforward. A stunning diagonal traverse overlooking the Col Des Aravis, it offers a spectacular introduction to high mountain exploration.
- Altitude: Climbing from 1500 to 1800m of altitude.
- Length: Via Ferrata takes you 700m along a sunny south facing cliff face.
- Difficulty: It is rated as a D+ (difficult) - accessible to most people, as long as they are happy with heights. It has a steep final pitch which can be avoided.
- Time: Allow 3-4 hours.
- Access: There is a 20 minute uphill walk from the car park into the via ferrata in La Clusaz. Once you hit the summit, there is a 45 minute walk back down through the Combe de Borderan.
