Mountain Biking
Mountain biking in the French Alps is a unique experience, really a world apart from mountain biking in the UK. There is a large network of signed mountain biking and cross country cycle trails around La Clusaz and Grand Bornand. They range from wide, smooth firetracks through the woods, to exhilarating downhills and more technical biking sections. There really is a choice of biking trails for everyone and we would tailor suggested mountain biking routes to the experience, fitness and interests of the group.
There are many bike routes which are mostly flat or downhill, but as you are biking in the Alps, some small sections of uphill are inevitable. A bit of puff will be well worth it, getting you into some stunning and remote areas of the Aravis French Alps. We will drop you off in minibuses to get you to the start of the best biking trails around La Clusaz and Grand Bornand, but there are also 3 lift served, bona fide downhill biking tracks in La Clusaz if you want a real taste of adventure. All cycle trails in this area of the French Alps inevitably take you through some stunning view points, pass through traditional hamlets, open pastures, forests and quiet roads.
